Lion Tutoring

About us

A Botswana tutoring enterprise since 2015

Lion Tutoring was incorporated on 23 February 2015 by Mr Thobo Khathola, after he identified a gap in the private tutoring market.

Vision

Lion Tutoring strives to become the leading tutorial centre that provides high quality service to primary, secondary and tertiary students in Botswana and surrounding countries, using various personalised and e-learning methods to ensure efficiency.

Mission

Lion Tutoring is committed to providing quality tutoring services which will increase students' grades and give them a better academic standing, a guided career path and a balanced lifestyle.

Strategy

In pursuit of its short-run and long-run objectives, Lion Tutoring aims to recruit and retain qualified and experienced staff. Operations are manned by a staff complement that is reviewed annually and increased as and when needed.

The concept

Where the idea came from

The concept started as an idea from a South African based company, Teachme2, where Lion Tutoring's CEO, Thobo Khathola, worked for three years during his studies. One-on-one tuition is a market that has not been fully tapped into in our local and regional markets, hence the need to establish an organisation that can meet the needs of this market and beyond.

Our aims

What we hold ourselves to

Customer satisfaction

Customer satisfaction through the delivery of quality, competitively priced tuition packages.

Integrity

Maintaining integrity with all stakeholders.

Milestones

How Lion Tutoring grew

  1. February 2015

    Incorporation

Lion Tutoring was incorporated on 23 February 2015 by Mr Khathola, after he identified a gap in the market. The company started from his private residence and did not need fixed premises, since he drove to students' homes to provide private tutorial services.

  2. March 2015

    Recruiting tutors

Lion Tutoring started with only three tutors and one administrator. Most tutors recruited since then are young, experienced teachers by profession.

  3. September 2015

    The facility

Lion Tutoring acquired a base that serves as the main head office and facility for group and individualised tutorial sessions, at Plot 431, Extension 4, Gaborone.

  4. January 2017

    Expansion across Botswana

Lion Tutoring saw the need to serve other cities and towns, and began servicing students in Gaborone, Francistown, Palapye, Molepolole, Mogoditshane and Tlokweng.

  5. May 2017

    Botswana Youth Awards

Lion Tutoring was nominated with the most votes for Best Youth Owned Business at the Botswana Youth Awards 2017.
